We understand that not all stone tiles are the exact fit for the job. Some may need to be cut down to ensure they fit neatly into your space. Below is a step by step guide on how to cut your tiles to ensure an accurate result for your project.

How to Cut Your Bluestone Tiles:

Step 1: Measure and mark out where you need to make cuts on the face of your bluestone tiles, using a metal square and a white crayon. Measure twice to avoid mistakes.

Step 2: Place a piece of scrap wood under the stone so that once the blade has gone through the stone, it will go into the wood.

Step 2: Use either a wet saw from your local hardware store or an angle grinder with a general purpose segmented diamond blade.

Step 4: Turn the blade on and push it downwards, using a moderate pressure, to make your first cut. Make an incision along the marked out line, between a quarter and a half of an inch in the stone. Set the cutter’s blade down another quarter to a half of an inch and make your second cut. You will need to continue in this manner until you have cut all the way through the bluestone pavers.

Cutting natural stone can create a lot if dust, so ensure you are cutting in a well ventilated area or outside, and wearing appropriate safety goggles, mask and gloves.
